The ROCKSIDE and the UNAWATUNA DIVING CENTRE are under Sri Lankan / German Management since January 2011. We speak German and English.
The ROCKSIDE is situated around 8 km south of Galle, the capital of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka and around 2.5 km south of UNAWATUNA. You find it on the sea side of Matara Road (A2), house number 628, at the milestone 125.3 km, behind the hotel POINT DE GALLE" in the village called MIHIRIPENNA/THALPE. The distance to the UNAWATUNA DIVING CENTRE is around 2.5 km. You can get there by a TUK TUK (three wheeler), it is about a 5 minute drive and cost around 1 Euro for 2-3 people.
Check-in time is 2 p.m. - check-out time is 11 a.m.
For your convenience you can safely deposit your luggage before or after at ROCKSIDE free of charge. Please be informed that the use of our beach beds in our garden is reserved for the new guest on arrival. If do you want use one of our showers (warm and cold water) after your “Check Out” we will charge a contribution towards expenses for this service of 2,50 Euro include bath towel per person.
For your security passport and valuables can be locked in the ROCKSIDE safe location at reception. We will provide you a sealed envelope upon arrival.
The outstanding payment of your accommodation, possible before booked services for example massages or diving packages, the airport transfer (if requested) is to be made on arrival at ROCKSIDE or UNAWATUNA DIVING CENTRE. The payment can be made cash in Euro, US-Dollar, British Pounds or by Credit Card (VISA or MASTER Card). If you are pay your accommodation and ROCKSIDE restaurant bills and other used services (massages, scuba diving, PADI diving courses…) in cash in EURO, US Dollar or in British Pounds we offer you a discount of 2.5 % of your bills.

We will serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner as well warm and cool drinks in our ROCKSIDE garden restaurant or at the terrace of your cabana or apartment.
The UNAWATUNA DIVING CENTRE is situated at the southern end of UNAWATUNA, about 6 km south of the provincial capital Galle. You find it on the sea side of the Matara Road (A2) in the direction to the town MATARA, directly at the beach. The distance to ROCKSIDE along the Matara Road is around 2.5 km. You can get there by a TUK TUK (three wheeler) within about 5 minute drive and cost around 1 Euro for 2-3 people.
Check-in time is 2 p.m. - check-out time is 11 a.m.
If you like you can safely deposit your diving gear or luggage before or after with the staff of the UNAWATUNA DIVING CENTRE free of charge.

For breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as warm and cool drinks you can visit a large number of surrounding restaurants at the bay of UNAWATUNA or at ROCKSIDE.
On your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport in COLOMBO you will find behind the arrival hall some bank counters. Here you can change convertible currencies into Srilankan Rupee. ALL bank counters have the same acceptable exchange rates. At the town GALLE or KOGGALA you can also withdraw Srilankan Rupee at different ATM CASH MASCHNES with you Debit or Credit Card.
The Bandaranaike International Airport is situated around 30 km north of the centre of COLOMBO, near the town NEGOMBO. The distance to ROCKSIDE and the UNAWATUNA DIVING CENTRE is around 150 km. The driving time by care or van takes around 2 hours depending on the traffic.
